JBK Humpbacks spotted today in Jervis Bay

Ross and I decided to spend our first closed winter Monday on the water to see if we could spot some Whales. The sun was shining, the water was warm and a light Westerly wind was blowing so anything else was going to be a bonus. After an hour on the water we were rewarded with  6 Humpback whales cruising past, one of which was white!! Affectionately known as Migaloo. We saw it come to the surface a couple of times so we are both certain of it. We almost forgot to record anything as we were enjoying the sight so much but if you look closely we just managed to take a photo of one of the Humpbacks in the distance, unfortunately not the white one.

After a coffee and relax on the beach enjoying the warm winter sun we headed home - no more whale sightings but we were visited on one or two occasions by a seal and a turtle.
A reminder of how wonderful the paddling in Jervis Bay is in winter
